Those elected as Delegates and Alternates at the February 3rd Caucuses qualify for attending this convention.
A senate district convention can be an all-day affair, but it can be fun to meet others who are passionate about politics, and meet elected officials and candidates. There can be as many as 300 or so at the Senate District 43 convention.
At the convention you'll:
Hear speeches from candidates seeking to be endorsed for Senate District 43A and 43B representatives and Senate District 43 state senator. Delegates will vote on which candidate to endorse for each race (we will divide into districts 43A and 43B for the representative vote).
Often, you’ll also hear from candidates for higher office who wish to address delegates although no endorsing of them happens at this level.
Vote for delegates to advance to the Congressional District 5* convention and DFL State Convention.
Vote for individuals to serve on convention committees.
Vote for leadership of Senate District 43 – chair, vice chair, and other officers and directors.
Vote for delegates to be members of the DFL State Central Committee.
Vote on which resolutions you want to advance to be considered for inclusion in the DFL platform.
