A senate district convention can be an all-day affair, but it can be fun to meet others who are passionate about politics, and meet elected officials and candidates. There can be as many as 300 or so at the Senate District 43 convention.
At the convention you'll:
Hear speeches from candidates seeking office.
Elect the leadership of Senate District 43 – chair, vice chair, and other officers and directors.
Elect State Central Committee Members to represent our district throughout the year, outside of the State Convention.
Endorse State Senator
Endorse State Representatives
Vote for delegates to advance to the Congressional District 5* convention and DFL State Convention.
Vote for individuals to serve on convention committees.
Vote on which resolutions you want to advance to be considered for inclusion in the DFL platform.
*delegates from Plymouth W-3 P-16 will go to the Congressional District 3 convention
No training is needed to attend, just come as you are. If you signed up at caucus to be a delegate or alternate, you're on the list. You probably have been seeing communication from the district and campaigns regarding the convention.
One thing you can do to prepare, is determine who you want to vote for in the endorsement of State Senator and State Representative.
